Episode 014

Ben Walters: [00:00:00] Sometimes the support we give others needs to be more than just a text or a phone call. We actually have to work with them. Last time I talked about how my dog Denver, who's getting a little long in the tooth, sometimes I can just pat him in the bed and he can jump right up. But this is being less and less effective the older he gets.

Ben Walters: One of the things I discovered is that while he can't jump all the way up into the bed, he can jump part way up. Come here Denver. So I can get Denver to jump up to this level and then I can get him, come on Denver, jump up. I can get him all the way up to the bed. So with that simple accommodation, Denver and I can enjoy time together in the bed.

Ben Walters: Now, it wasn't a lot, it was just a little modification, right? Think about that as you continue to care and support for those you love. Like there was a woman at our church and she was struggling with mobility issues because she lost, her eyesight was failing and she was no longer [00:01:00] able to drive. And for many man, when you can't drive, that is a really tough road. And we were like, what's she gonna do? I was able to help her take her phone, download the Uber app, and then get her credit card entered in, and then, you know what was cool? She could come to church, just calling an Uber. She could go to her doctor's appointments, she could go to the grocery store. All because we made that simple little accommodation, just a little bit more help helped her get from where she was to where she wanted to go. So go out there, think about how you can make accommodations for those you love and care about, and help them live their SuperPumped Life.
